First segment of up to one hour is spent handling the dslr camera, learning the essential functions and controls, and the miniscule amount of theory about exposure and focus followed by practice shooting and analysis of images on the LCD. Every aspect is covered in the bound course notes which are kept by the student.
Shooting practice then follows, either out and about at maybe Kew Gardens, By the river Thames at Kew, or maybe at your own home if family portraiture is your interest.
During this segment you will be advised on subject choice, camera position and use of available light and composition while keeping a sharp eye on the camera settings.
The final hour is back to base to learn the basics of post-shoot image processing using Photoshop elements or photoshop cs2 as well as both colour and black and white printing techniques using the images you shot earlier.
Cameras, lenses, laptop, software, portable inkjet printer and lashings of ink and paper are all included. Telephone and email support continue for one month from the course.
