About David Edwards
David Edwards is a jazz singer (or lounge singer if you prefer the term) who has been making a big impact on the southern entertainment scene. He wows his audiences with his wonderful renditions of songs from "The Ratpack" and other great jazz standards.
Although David Edwards originally came from Norfolk - he now lives in Sussex within striking distance of Kent and Surrey. London and the Home counties are where the bulk of David's work lies but he does frequently travel further afield.
Most of David's work has been with jazz pianist Eugene Portman and has been mostly as a duo. However, as there seems to be a forever increasing demand for this genre of music - and for David as a corporate entertainer - the line up now has to be frequently augmented to include "The Eugene Portman Trio". This trio features Eugene Portman on piano, Mike Porter-Ward on bass and Dave Trigwell on drums.
David's influences have been wide and varied but his main ones have been Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet, and Nat King Cole. A lot of the songs included on the repertoire list were recorded by these great jazz singers. However, David manages to put a new slant on them while keeping an easy jazz feel.
David's music is ideal for weddings, corporate events, private parties or any event where a sophisticated ambience is the key feature. He has performed at jazz brunches, theatre shows, restaurants, private functions and parties.
