Hi there ! Sandra Manley here.... I 've been a professional singer for many years, and for a living, I am a VOCAL COACH for SINGERS.
Many times, people will begin to sing, start a band, start traveling, and develop a following, all the while, never having yet received any professional vocal training. Regularly, people that do this already have good voices, and that is
really why they probably never sought out any professional training because they didn't feel like they really needed it. This is where I obtain many of my regular students.
By the time they get over into the process and bookings and traveling, the pace picks up and their throats really begin to feel the strain.
The reason for this is that even though they have good voices, they don't really know the correct techniques for being able to handle their voices to prevent the strain and to protect themselves vocally.
Busy singers find out very quickly that it is imperative that they become extremely conscientious about vocal training for that is their livelihood.
So, trashed throat= cancelled bookings, and an untimely end to a great singing career.
Singers travel. That is why, for many years, I have regularly taught students over the telephone.
If I am in New York, and they are in Florida on tour, we can still work easily over the telephone.
But these days, hi-tech has shined on us!
I teach people in several ways:
1. in person
2. over the telephone
3. face-to-face over streaming webcam sessions (Got a webcam?)
4. And now, all of these things are being additionally supported by my coaching students with training DVDs.
My students and I regularly meet on "skype" over the internet. This allows me to see, hear and teach singers from all over the English speaking world.
If you have a high-speed connection and a webcam, along with a desire to learn and a deep love for singing, then you are a candidate for my teaching.
