From 1997 until 2004, Gerard Simi was the owner of
the world famous Raymond Revuebar Theatre and
Night Club, which was one of the most visited Soho
venues for half a century in London.
Before owning the lease of the club and the business.
Gerard devised, choreographed and designed all the
shows at The Raymond Revuebar from 1977 until 2004,making him the most specialised director of this kind of entertainment in Europe.
Gerard has also directed shows for the Whitehall Theatre, The Boulevard Theatre and Madame Jo Jo?s in London during the hey days of this famous night spot.
In Paris he staged Revues for the Elysee Monmartre and did other work for La Comedie de Paris and Le Café Theatre du Selenite.
He has participated in numerous documentaries including ?Soho Stories?, ?24 hours in Soho? and was interviewed at length for his expertise in ?Baring it All? for Channel 4, a programme entirely devoted to Burlesque.
Gerard has also choreographed for music videos, the most important being Massive Attack?s ?Be Thankful for what you?ve got?, which was an internationally acclaimed video that was shot in it?s entirety on the stage at The Raymond Revuebar.
Also,a one hour film documenting the latter days of the Raymond Revuebar entitled ?The Art of Striptease? was shown internationally and presented at the New York Film Festival.
