Administrator (Hunger Reduction Team)
Save the Children is the world's independent children's charity. We're outraged that millions of children are still denied proper healthcare, food, education and protection. We're working flat out to get every child their rights and we're determined to make further, faster changes. How many? How fast? It's up to you.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing the administrative, financial, human resources (HR) and information support systems for the Hunger Reduction Team in our Policy Department. Our ultimate aim is to reduce levels of malnutrition among children under five years old, with hunger reduction activities in approximately 20 of our country programmes. The objective team is responsible for organisational policy, research and best practice, high-level international advocacy and providing expert guidance and strategic planning frameworks to support technical colleagues in our country programmes. The team currently consists of the Head of Hunger Reduction, an Advocacy Advisor, and 6 technical expert advisers in the fields of food security, livelihoods and nutrition.
You will have significant experience of developing administrative systems and working with budgets. You will have good written and verbal communications skills and be able to deal professionally with a wide range of contacts and sensitive or confidential information. You will have excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise tasks and meet to tight deadlines, with the adaptability to support a busy team in a reactive, varied and demanding working environment and the foresight 'troubleshoot' problems. You will also be able to demonstrate how you have actively contributed towards team working and cross-organisational initiatives. You will also have experience of organising events and a high level of computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications.
