Job Summary
We are seeking Project Managers who have experience of successfully delivering IT solutions, preferably with exposure to e-commerce and the technologies and tools which support it.
Our current projects span from the replacement of existing company intranets to the introduction of completely new e-commerce systems and marketplaces. We work across a wide range of delivery channels including intranet, internet, interactive TV, and wireless.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Project Manager with Conchango you will be responsible for the successful delivery of innovative projects. Managing a skilled team of Conchango resources, you will work closely with client project management and develop the answers to the following;
* What does the client want from the project, how does it fit into the client's business strategy?
Who are the key client stakeholders and what are their individual goals?
* What is the right balance of Scope, Resources and Timetable for the Project?
* How will you resource the project and build a strong team with client personnel?
* How will you control the project scope and budget whilst remaining flexible to changes in business needs?
You will typically heading up a multi-skilled team of resources including business analysts, technical and creative design personnel looking at all aspects of the solution. Team sizes and project durations vary by project, and project managers with proven ability will find themselves leading up high profile projects with significant budgets. The Project Manager is the key point of contact with the client and will be fully involved in business development and client relationship building, as well as owning responsibility for project budgets and margins.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience in a number of successful IT projects and a background that demonstrates creativity, drive and enthusiasm. Your skills are likely to include some or all of:
* Good understanding of technologies and how they can be used to deliver business solutions
* Structured analysis and problem solving skills, including knowledge of delivery methodologies (Prince2, Agile / Scrum ideal)
* Experienced in facilitation
* The ability to deliver change including people, process and systems
* Project management experience including team coaching and mentoring
* Financial management experience
* Ideally you should have an understanding of the full development lifecycle and a keen interest in the development of eCommerce.
Industry specialist knowledge in one or more of the following industries:
* Retail
* Consumer Packaged Goods
* Financial Services
* Energy
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:
* eCommerce
* Systems Integration
* Business Intelligence
* User Interaction Design
* Mobile/wireless business technology based solutions
As a highly regarded professional services firm we seek people with very strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to build relationships with senior client and partner personnel.
Travel throughout the UK is an integral part of the job, as you will be primarily working at customer sites and should expect this to be around 80% of your time. Therefore you must be able to drive and be happy to commute or work away from home during the week if the client site is not a commutable distance.
